The association was formed in 2003 as the Rodbourne Living Story Project. They are committed to recording Rodbourne's past and hope to make memories, plans and photographs available through the site.  A short history of Rodbourne, a suburb of Swindon, is available on their site.

Founded in 1981, Wiltshire Family History Society now has over 2000 members Worldwide. The aim of the association is to promote and encourage the study of genealogy, especially in the county of Wiltshire.

Many resources are accessible in the Research Centre, which include:

  • Apprenticeships
  • Crime Records: Quarter Sessions 1722-1849, Summary Convictions 1698-1803
  • Greenslade Index: Paper slip index of names from North Wiltshire and South Gloucestershire, including notes of  baptisms, marriages and burials
  • Library and Correspondence Files: Indexed by Surname
  • Marriage Licence Bonds for Sarum Diocese 1609-1837: Covers Wiltshire, Berkshire Dorset, and Uffculme in Devon.  This index includes grooms and brides from other counties marrying in the Diocese
  • Monumental Inscriptions

On payment of a fee, the Society is prepared to conduct research on your behalf.
