This section lists the state-wide association of Wyoming.  It then lists associations from Albany to Sheridan giving details about each one and what resources and publications they offer.

Wyoming State Historical Society

The society is an independent, non-profit making association established in 1953.  Its aims are to preserve the history of Wyoming, to use history to promote tourism in Wyoming and to promote historic sites for the public.

It has many members across the state and further afield.

Anybody who has an interest in the area is welcome to join, regardless of where they live.

The association has many publications for sale, which include:

  • Challenging the Canyon: A Family Man Builds a Dam
  • A Guide to the Indian Wars of the West
  • Historical Calendars and Maps
  • Mary's Way: A Memoir of the Life of Mary Cooper Back
  • Parkman's Trace

Cheyenne Genealogical and Historical Society

The association provides a lot of information regarding

Jackson Hole Historical Society

Many archives are available in the Stan Klassen Research Centre, which incorporate:

Natrona County Genealogical Society

The association has a Library where a number of archives are available, which is located at 3931 West 45th Street, Casper and is collated with the LDS Family History Centre.

A number of publications are available for sale, which include Cemetery Transcripts, Research Guide to Natrona Co. and an Index to the History of Natrona Co.


Sheridan Genealogical Society
