County and Other Societies

BIGWILL Genealogists - British Interest Group of Wisconsin and Illinois

The association has a number of books and archives held in McHenry Public Library.  

These include British Census Indexes, Obituaries, Genealogical Reference Books, Family Histories and Genealogies, the Genealogical Research Directory and Topographical Dictionary of England.  A full list of books is available on the site.

A list of surnames currently being researched by Members is also available, along with a list of links to other sites you may find of use.


Buffalo County Historical Society

A list of Family Histories, History Books, Newspapers and Census Records held in the association's Library is available on the site.


Burlington Genealogical Society

The association has a Library where a number of archives are available, which include:

Burlington Historical Society

The association was established in 1928.  Its aim is to the collect and preserve historical material and artefacts related to the Burlington area.  It was the first historical society in Racine County.

Many databases are accessible, which incorporate:

Chippewa County Genealogical Society

The association was formed in 1980, its aims being to give help and guidance to people tracing their genealogy, to preserve genealogical and historical materials and to provide access to those materials.

They have a Library where a number of resources are available, which include:
