This section lists associations from Waller to Wood giving details about each one and what resources and publications they offer.

County Societies

Waller County Historical Commission/Society

The association has newspapers dating from 1896 to 2010.  They are in the process of making these available on the site.  Obituaries from 1918, 1927-1969 and 1993-1995 are also available, along with Marriages 1873-1917, indexed by both Bride and Groom. 

There is also a list of Military Men and Women mentioned in Waller Co. Newspapers 1940-1969.  In addition, some Historical Pictures and other Documents are available on the site.

A number of publications are available for sale, which include Forgotten Places, Directory of Historical Markers, Little of Six Shooter Junction and Former Post Offices.


Webb County Heritage Foundation

The Foundation was established in 1980, its aim being to preserve the cultural and architectural heritage of Laredo and Webb County.

An Archives Table of Contents is available, which includes the following indexes:

Williamson County Genealogical Society

The aims of the Society are to promote and encourage interest in genealogy and to assist people with their genealogical research.  They preserve historical data, maintain a genealogical research library and publish a quarterly newsletter titled "The Roundup".

The Society has a number of resources accessible through Round Rock Public Library.  A number of databases are also accessible in the library.

It is possible to view a list of WCGS Pioneer Certificates, issued to those people who could prove they are directly descended from anybody who resided in the area before 31st December 1880, on the site.

A list of surnames currently being researched by members is also available.


Wood County Genealogical Society

The association is based in Quitman Public Library where an extensive number of archives are available, which incorporate:
