Pennsylvania Genealogical Society

The association provides access to on-line databases.  These include the Philadelphia Courts Naturalisations 1790-1880, History of County Formations 1673-1878, Atlas of Historical Co. Boundaries and Atlases and Maps from the 1850s-1870s.

Databases also incorporate Birth and Death Indexes - Births 1906-1907 and Deaths 1906-1961 and Marriages (FamilySearch) 1885-1950.  There is also a list of First Families on the site.

Their publication is the third oldest continuing genealogical publication in America.  Back Issues are available on a Members Only Access basis on their site.  They also publish Penn in Hand, their quarterly Newsletter and Back Issues are again available on the site to Members Only.

Pennsylvania Historical Society

The association has a large library, which is one of the biggest in the Nation.  Documents held incorporate:

Western Pennsylvania Genealogical Society

The association has a number of archives, including Genealogies, Vertical Files of Family Research, Church Histories, Cemetery Histories, Local Research and First Families.

For a fee, the association is also willing to conduct research on your behalf in the following Records and Databases, which incorporate WPA Home Surveys, Naturalisations, First Families, File Searches and they also conduct a Library Research Service.
