County Societies

Buffalo County Historical Society

The association has an extensive number of resources in their Archives, which incorporate:

Cass County Historical Society

A number of archives are available at their museum.  The museum has resources relating to Cass Co. history from 1854, when it was first settled.

These include Plattsmouth City Directories, Telephone Directories and Census Returns.

Archives also include Newspapers including Cass County Tribune October 1895 - April 1897, Nehawka Enterprise 2 July 1931 - 26 June 1952 and Plattsmouth Daily Herald 9 March 1883 to 9 March 1888.

History Books which include Biographical Album of Otoe and Cass County 1889, The History of Plattsmouth 1853-1900 and Town Histories.


Chase County, Nebraska Historical Society

The association was established in 1938.  A number of databases are available on the site, which incorporate:

They also have Genealogical Information taken from Headstones, Newspapers and other Records which has been compiled by Kermit Karns of Imperial, Nebraska.

A list of surnames currently being researched by Members is also on the site.  They also have a Mailing List which is hosted by Rootsweb.


Crawford Historical Society

The association and museum holds an extensive collection of archives, which include Photographs, Newspapers, Obituaries and Books relating to the area.


Custer County Historical Society

The association has a Research Library where a number of resources are available, which incorporate:
