Letcher County Historical and Genealogical Society

Numerous publications are available, which include:

Louisville Genealogical Society

The association was established in 1985, its aim being to preserve, share and evaluate local records.  Anyone with an interest in genealogy or Louisville history is welcome to join the society.  

They publish Lines and By-Lines, their quarterly journal, and a searchable index of articles from that publication covering 1986-1994 is accessible on their site.

Martin County Historical and Genealogical Society

Some Obituaries that members have taken from local newspapers are accessible. They sell Martin County, Kentucky - A Pictorial History which is 408 pages of Martin Co. pictures.  This book contains a surname index.

Back issues of their newsletter Martin Co. Heritage can also be purchased from the society and an index to Tables of Contents from 2002-2005 is available on the site.
