This section lists the state-wide associations from Indiana to Tri-State.  It then lists county associations from Boone to Illiana giving details about each one and what resources and publications they offer.

Indiana Genealogical Society

The society was established in 1989, their aim being to publish materials relating to the settlers of the state.

The association is in the process of indexing Indiana Marriages 1811-1959 in collaboration with FamilySearch.

A number of publications are also available, including:

  • 1890 Soldiers Enrolment Lists
  • Marion Co. World War I Military Deaths
  • Marriages and Deaths from Indianapolis Newspapers 1822-1829, 1830-1839 and 1840-1849
  • State-wide Indexes to 1890 Soldiers Enrolment Lists and 1880 DDD (Defective, Dependent, Delinquent) Schedules

North-West Indiana Genealogical Society

The association was established in 1970. Their aim is to preserve the history of Lake and Porter Counties.

They have an extensive number of resources on their site, which includes Government Books, Land Office Records and Census Data. 

There is also an on-line index to Porter Co. Marriages 1921-1946. 

A number of publications are available, which include:

Tri-State Genealogical Society

The association was established in 1977 and serves Southwest Indiana, Southeast Illinois and Western Kentucky. 

They have an extensive number of resources accessible in Willard Library, including:

  • Weddings

County Societies

Elwood Pipecreek Genealogy Society

The society, established in 1996, serves Elwood, Pipecreek Township and Northern Madison County, Indiana.  

A number of publications are available to purchase from the assocation including Cemetery Books relating to St Joseph Catholic, Elwood City, Sunset Memorial Park, Neese and Waymire Cemeteries.
