Florida State Genealogical Society

The organisation was established in 1977.  Their aims are to promote and encourage family history research and to publish materials.  They also hold conferences which are attended by nationally well-known speakers.

There is a list of Florida Pioneers on the site, which can be searched by Pioneer or Descendant. 

There is also a list of their publications for sale, which include A Journal of Civil War Pensioner Examinations 1896-1903 along with Pioneers and their Descendants.  They also sell the Legislative Council of the Territory of Florida Names and Abstracts 1822-1845. 

You can download copies of their newsletter from 2003 to 2012 on the site.  They also have a list of surnames currently being researched by members.

Alachua County Genealogical Society

The association was established in 1973.

They provide a link to the Alachua Co. Virtual Cemetery Project which has details of cemeteries in the area.  They also have a list of publications available for sale, which include Cemetery Records, 1860 Alachua Co. Census and Masons 1866-1870.

Broward County Genealogical Society

The association was established in 1967.  Their collections are accessible on the second floor of the Main Library of Nova South-eastern University, 3100 Ray Ferrero Jr. Blvd, Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33314. 

It is also possible to view Cemetery Records from Dania Memorial Park(Woodlawn Cemetery) and West Lawn Cemetery on the site.

Englewood Genealogical Society

The association was established in 2001.  Their site gives details of resources accessible in their Library.  They also have a list of surnames currently being researched by members on the site along with details of Special Interest Groups.

Lee County Genealogical Society

The organisation was established in 1975.  A number of resources relating to Genealogy are accessible at the Fort Myers-Lee County Public Library.  They have an index of death notices and obituaries published in Fort Myers News-Press on the site. 

There is also a list of surnames currently being researched by members along with details of Special Interest Groups, some of which to England and Wales.
