Narre Warren and District Family History Group

The Group is a non-profit making association whose primary aim is to encourage and promote local history in the City of Casey and Shire of Cardinia.  

They serve the communities of Narre Warren, Narre Warren North and East, Harkaway, Pakenham, Cranbourne, Berwick, Beaconsfield and the surrounding areas.

Shepparton Family History Group

Their site contains a comprehensive list of holdings, including some relating to England and Wales. 

They also have three volumes of Early Families of Shepparton and District available for sale.

South Gippsland Genealogical Society

The association covers Leongatha, Korumburra and surrounding rural areas.  They have a Reference Library, and holdings include Personal Notices from Local newspapers, Local cemetery indexes, Local School Records and a wide range of books regarding the area's past.

Victoria Genealogical Society

The association was founded in 1941 and now has over 6000 members.  They have a extensive catalogue of resources, including some relating to England and Wales, which can be searched by using their online catalogue.  It is also possible to order LDS Films that can be perused at their Library.

Wangaratta Family History Society

The association was established in 1985 to encourage and promote genealogical research, especially in Wangaratta and North East.  They have an comprehensive collection of resources, some of which relating to England and Wales, accessible in their Library.

These resources include:

  • CDs relating to Victoria, New South Wales, South Australia, Tasmania and Western Australia
  • Cemetery Inscriptions
  • England Births, Deaths and Marriages
  • North East Victoria Court Records

West Gippsland Genealogical Society

The association was established in 1983 to encourage and promote genealogy and also to preserve records and documents relating to West Gippsland.  They have transcribed some school records from West Gippsland and also have a list of local cemetery records.

Wodonga Family History Society

Their site contains an extensive list of their collections.

They also have a list of publications for sale, which include cemetery inscriptions, Wodonga burial registers 1861-1937 and 1938-2004, Petty Sessions Transcriptions and Pupil Registers.
